Conflicts with directories of the same name

How does Owncloud handle folders that are shared within the organization and may already exist with the same name in the target account? Users told me about accounts that are no longer working as long as the conflict exists, which I can’t even imagine, because this problem will occur more often in larger organizations. Isn’t there a mechanism that automatically adds a numbered *[1].suffix spoiler to the file or directory name, like the browsers do in the downloads folder for example?
