Deleted files unavailable

We’re having a major issue where at least one Windows client seems to be randomly deleting files. I am trying to restore the files. When I go to “Deleted files” in the web interface, I get this error:

This directory is unavailable, please check the logs or contact the administrator

Steps to reproduce

  1. Unknown

Expected behaviour

A list of deleted files appears.

Actual behaviour

The “Deleted files” page is empty and an error appears:
This directory is unavailable, please check the logs or contact the administrator

Server configuration

Operating system:

Web server: Apache

Database: MariaDB

PHP version: 7.3

ownCloud version: 10.5.0 (stable)

Updated from an older ownCloud or fresh install:

Where did you install ownCloud from: tar.gz

It seems like the client in question starting deleting things, after upgrading. The user upgraded to 2.7.2 via a prompt. I think they upgraded from 2.6.x.

Can I mass-restore the files? They should still be available, somewhere, right?

The deleting issue appears to be related to the 2.7.2 client.

How can I get to the trash? I keep getting that error.

What is that error? It seems to occur because of the number of files but how can I fix it?
