OC is not removing deleted files from the filesystem

9.1.x
help

#1

Per the OC 9.0 User Manual, I modified /usr/share/webapps/owncloud/config/config.php to only keep deleted files for 2 days but I have very old files in /usr/share/webapps/owncloud/data/USER/files_trashbin for some reason.

'trashbin_retention_obligation' => 2,

1) Can I force OC to purge these?
2) Is something wrong with my config file... why are they not getting purged automatically?

Thanks!

Hi,

this looks wrong when having a look at the possible config options shown in your config.sample.php or in the documentation:

https://doc.owncloud.org/server/9.1/admin_manual/configuration_server/config_sample_php_parameters.html#deleted-items-trash-bin

Thank you for linking that syntax. That was indeed the problem!

'trashbin_retention_obligation' => 'auto, 2',

Seems like the page I linked should reference the syntax somewhere; too bad it isn't a wiki :wink:

Indeed that would make sense. Or at least link to the manuals above. You can report that to https://github.com/owncloud/documentati or even contribute to the documentation by creating a Pull Request on github with the syntax.
