Hey all, I am looking for a setup to allow file swapping with clients on a dedicate computer/server, does owncloud sound like part of the solution for my needs? I transfer videotapes to video and need a place where my clients can download their files.

If they are on your computer in your office, the download speed of your customers is limited by your upload speed. Supposing you have a sufficient internet connection, a static IP address would be easier to set up but you could even do it with dynamic ips (and a dynamic dns provider).
