Recommended OS confusion

On this page: Manual Installation it says “Ubuntu 18.04 LTS”

However on this page: Deployment recommendations it clearly says “RedHat”, etc but not ubuntu.

Which is actually recommended?

if i’m understanding this document correctly it looks to me that Ubuntu is officially recommended by the ownCloud team:

yes but this is completely contradictory to that:

So deployment recs are some how not the mainline?

i think this question can be only answered by some one from ownCloud. Maybe you can post an issue at https://github.com/owncloud/docs/issues asking for clarification?

If you want enterprise support for your Linux we usually recommend to go with RHEL or SLES, otherwise use Ubuntu.
