Solved: Public link not editable

I try to add a public link to my owncloud server via the webUI and want to make this link editable. I saw in the user manual, that there should be an checkbox to do so, but on my server this box is not showing up. Did I disable this feature somehow?

Steps to reproduce

  1. I want to share a folder
  2. Go to public link
  3. Create public link or Edit public ling

Expected behaviour

There should be a checkbox “Allow Editing”

Actual behaviour

Only Checkbox for “Ansehen/Herunterladen” (Read-only)

I think this dialog is for modifying existing shares, not for creating.

Thanks Alfredb,

I added the wrong screenshot. Also in the create dialog it looks the same.
Here is the create dialog:

Please review your sharing settings.

Thanks, for that hint. I always looked on the security tab. But the setting is in the sharing tab.

Hi,
I do have the very same problem. Only the option “view and download” is visible in the public link creation windows.

I have looked at all the settings (in the share section) without finding wich parameter I have to set to allow editing.
In the setting all the option are on for Default user and group share permissions:

How could I allow editing of shared files ?

These are not the public link settings.
Make sure the following is set:

(sorry, it’s in French).
I found a solution. When I share a dossier, I get the full options. So I put the file in a dossier and got the public link for the dossier, with the edit option. I did check the link (on a private windows of the browser) and I got access to the edition of the file in OnlyOffice.
What is funny, is that if I create a public link for the file inside the dossier I got only the option for view and download…

Glad you found a solution, but I’m not sure what you mean by “dossier”, is that a folder?

If you want more help, I would recommend to open your own topic where you fill out the server issue template with all information.

Sorry by that, dossier means folder.
OK, I will open a new topic.
Thanks,
