Some (but not all) JPGs not displaying in Files/Gallery

could this be related to this?

Not showing pictures with > 4K pixel vertical resolution

After uploading portrait oriented pictures from my smartphone with 4032 pixel vertical resolution, neither thumbnails are shown in the file explorer, nor these images can be viewed in gallery or image viewer. Scaling the image down to 4000 pixel or less vertical resolution, ownCloud works as expected. Since I could not see anything suspicious in owncloud.log, is this a known bug or can maximum vertical resolution somehow be configured? Thx Andreas
