Best Method to Install OwnCloud for Personal Use?

Hello everyone,

I’m planning to set up OwnCloud for personal use and I’m trying to determine the most recommended installation method. Should I go for the Docker option, use the OwnCloud appliance, or install it directly on my host?

Any advice, pros/cons, or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance for your guidance.

Hello LinkP, thank you for your insight.

I come from a background as a Linux Admin and have even earned RHCSA. While I possess foundational skills and am comfortable navigating the Linux environment, I find myself at a crossroads when it comes to choosing the most suitable method to install OwnCloud.

My primary goal is to deploy a personal cloud solution on my host, but I’m unsure about the trade-offs between the various installation methods available. Given my background and objectives, I’d appreciate any specific recommendations or factors I should consider to make an informed decision.
