Changing Admin Username

Hi,

I would like to change admin username because of a security issue.
I’m changing the password periodically but nobody knows.

If it’s impossible, is there any way to get admin role and delete admin account?

Yes, you cannot change an existing username.

But AFAIK, you can

  • Create a new user.
  • Set that user as admin.
  • Transfer ownership of old admins files to the new admin “in spe”.
    See files:transfer-ownership
  • Disable or delete the previous admin user.
