Connection problems between 2 servers

I have an owncloud server running in a hosted enviroment which perfectly fine. We have a sister company which also runs owncloud, and now we need to share some files.
The idea was to use federated sharing, however we are experiencing some issues.
I can add their server in the trusted server list, however they cannot add mine.
When they try they get this error: Client error response [url] 212.98.105.132/status.php [status code] 404 [reason phrase] Not Found

I have pasted some info about my system below, but dont have too much info about their system unfortunately.

Hi, so you mean include the IP of the new server? I thought the trusted domain array was only for clients?

To me it looks like this is the reason for your issue which already contains the required information that the system can’t reach the other one at the used IP.

Hi Tom, im not quite following. Yes, it does state it cannot reach the system, but the problem is that it should. So im wondering if there is anything in the setup causing it.
I can reach the other server perfectly fine (atleast it can connect).

After re-checking the message i don’t think that it states that it cannot reach the system. If i understand it correctly the message just says that the contacted system is responding unexpectedly with a “not found” message to the mentioned request for status.php.

Maybe the wrong system is contacted or is responding differently as expected?

Well im guessing youre right about the last part, I just cannot figure out why. From all I have read about it, it should be working.
