Core dump when starting owncloud client on linux mint

Hi,
ever since updating to the latest version of the owncloud desktop client a few days ago, the program crashes a few seconds after starting.

I have tried reinstalling it both from the Software Manager and by doing the manual installation as detailed on the download page, but the problem persists.

Expected behaviour

Owncloud desktop client should launch without issues.

Actual behaviour

A few seconds after starting owncloud, it closes again. Sometimes it works without crashing until I try to move or delete a file, then it crashes.

When launching it from terminal, it produces the following error message:
[ fatal default ]: ENFORCE: "instruction == CSYNC_INSTRUCTION_REMOVE || ((*it)->_type == ItemTypeVirtualFile && instruction == CSYNC_INSTRUCTION_NEW) || ((*it)->_isRestoration && instruction == CSYNC_INSTRUCTION_NEW)" in file /usr/src/packages/BUILD/src/libsync/discoveryphase.cpp, line 175
Aborted (core dumped)

Steps to reproduce

  1. Launch owncloud
  2. If it doesn’t crash directly, try moving/deleting a file

Client configuration

Operating system:

Client version (output of running owncloud – version):
ownCloud version 2.6.3 (build 2668)

Any help sorting this out will be very much appreciated!

Best,
Deanna

Hey,

personally i would report a crash / core dump to a bugtracker rather then to a user support forums. From what i know the ownCloud development team is accepting crash reports like this at https://github.com/owncloud/client/issues
