Desktop client unable to connect

Problem

Unable to connect to ownCloud from Desktop client.

No issue when trying to connect from the web UI.

Solution

A ‘Fullchain’ Cert is required on your router/ F5, not just a normal SSL Cert.

The SSL traffic in the Desktop App is not handled in the same way as the web browser.

  • The web browser can verify the SSL Cert by it’s own with integrated “Certs”
  • The Desktop App can’t verify the SSL Cert because it hasn’t integrated public Certs
