Error uploading file. Problem loading page, reloading in 5 seconds

Steps to reproduce
1. Click + Upload
2. Select file
3. wait a minute
4. See error: Error uploading file "my-file.extv":
Problem loading page, reloading in 5 seconds

I can upload a file to about 65MB, larger files always produce this error.

Expected behaviour
FIle should upload and display in folder in oC

Actual behaviour

Server configuration
Apache Version 2.4.25
PHP Version 5.6.30
MySQL Version 5.5.54-cll
Operating System linux
ownCloud version (see ownCloud admin page): stable
Updated from an older ownCloud or fresh install: fresh
Special configuration (external storage, external authentication, reverse proxy, server-side-encryption): symptom occurs in both external and server based storage
