(This is how it looks like: https://s15.postimg.io/3mrt7njd7/Bildschirmfoto_2016_09_18_um_09_51_11.png)

Server configuration
Using Public host, don't have much information on my fingertips.
Operating system: Linux www5 3.16-2-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 3.16.3-2 (2014-09-20) x86_64
Web server:
Database: MySQL 5.5.50
PHP version: 5.6.24
ownCloud version (see ownCloud admin page): 9.1
Updated from an older ownCloud or fresh install: fresh install
ownCloud log (data/owncloud.log, see https://central.owncloud.org/t/how-to-find-webserver-or-oc-logfile-enable-php-logfile/808):
No enteries from today in log file. (Since today I'm working on this).

Special configuration (external storage, external authentication, reverse proxy, server-side-encryption):
server-side-encryption enabled

Integrity status for oC9+

No errors have been found.

Why are those input fields invisible and how can I make them visible?

Thanks,
Lukas

You need to enable the storages within your admin backend (See https://doc.owncloud.org/server/9.1/admin_manual/configuration_files/external_storage_configuration_gui.html) for a specific user or group before these users or groups can use them.

Oh, thank you, that's it. It works now.

Didn't figure out that there was a separate Setting section for this.

I'm also having this same issue. It must be staring at me in the face but I can't for the life of me find in the manual linked where to enable the storages.

I've enabled the ES App. I'm on ownCloud 9.1 on Ubuntu. PHP 7.

Thanks

Same issue here... people keep saying the same thing. You enable it in the back end via the app but that does nothing, there is no drop down list under personal settings. I can see the storage option but cannot add anything to it. Please help, this is most frustrating.

Please do not just keep linking back to the guide, I've followed the guide to a tee and it does not explain what the problem is. A screenshot would be extremely helpful here.

Cheers.

There is a option "Allow users to mount external storage" in your admin backend which needs to be enabled...
