I was looking through the documentation and wondering if it is possible to have files automatically compressed within owncloud. I work with quite large files (raw photos). These could be reduced by zipping them. So that they are zipped on the server and when they are needed, they are picked up and unzipped on the server.
I would recommend to use a POSIX filesystem that supports compression like BTRFS/ZFS/…
