It was for the ownCloud project. Now it's listing as NextCloud.
Me, I'm supporting ownCloud, as I have no current plans for NextCloud. What happens to these existing tickets?

i think you're just looking at the wrong issue. The one you had created was https://github.com/owncloud/core/issues/25413 . This was closed as a duplicate of https://github.com/owncloud/core/issues/10656 which is still open and marked as an "enhancement" to be included in ownCloud.
Nextcloud already implemented this feature for the next major release. In owncloud it is still an open feature request. Due to dual-licensing, you can't just port the solutions to owncloud (the other way round is possible). I'm not sure how different the approaches have to be that you don't violate the license (if you look at the fix, it is not too complicated).
