How can I check free space on external source

How do I check the free space on an external drive connected by SMB? I have a USB drive that shows free space like this:
But it doesn't show anything for the external drive connected by SMB. How can I get something similar to this so that I know how much space is being used? I have the following setup: OC ver. 8.2.8 stable USB 64 GB running wordpress, OC, print server. I have a 2 TB NAS connected SMB to OC for extra storage and I want to know how to see free space.
I am setting this up for 2 users.
