How do groups work?

I set up a group with myself and another user in it.

Yet, after I upload a file to my login, the other user doesn't see it and vice versa.

Does each user now need to login into the group account name instead of their own individual OC account to share files?

I'm sure this is easy, but I'm missing something.

Hi,

ownCloud won't share any files automatically to other users of the group. If you want to share some files and folders to other members of your group you need to actively share these to the group.
