Issue on apk owncloud synch

Hello,

I am using the OwnCloud Android app (APK), and while normal folder upload works fine, the automatic upload of photos and videos does not work.

Details:

  • App version: ownCloud release version 4.6.2 (e36c21fa5)
  • Server version: hosting server ifastnet
  • Android version: 15/ one ui 7.0
  • Connection: 4G+
  • Configuration: server address, credentials, certificate – all OK

Problem:

  • The “Upload pictures and videos” option does not work.
  • Photos and videos from the SD card are not synchronized with the server.
  • Regular manual folder uploads work correctly.
  • No clear error message appears in the app.

I can provide screenshots if needed (see attached).(I dont have boutron for upload screenshots)

Has anyone experienced the same issue or does anyone have a solution?

Hi @flo !! about the automatic uploads, what behaviour do you expect? you told it does not work, but, what did really happen? Give us more details (screenshots, steps you did etc…), and we will be happy to help you :wink:

Good evening The problem is that nothing is happening. The files should be automatically transferred from my phone to my cloud, but they never upload. In principle, synchronization is automatic, but nothing is happening. Even though the application is configured correctly.

Automatic uploads feature just uploads the new pictures/videos you take after switching on. I mean, existing files before enabling are not uploaded. Did you expect that, @flo ?

Hi @flo!

Could you share app logs so we can check what is going on? To enable them, you have to go to Settings > Logging > Enable logging. Since the moment they are on, logs will keep track of every event occurring in the app.

All log files can be found under Settings > Logging > Log files, where you can download, share, or delete them.

Hi Florian,

This could be due to background permissions or battery optimization. Try allowing the app to run in the background, give full media access and disable battery optimization. If it still fails, reinstalling or updating the app may help.
