Mailbird on ownCloud

Please help us by providing the following info. Before posting please also check the pinned "Known issues" threads and make sure that you're running the latest available version for your oC release: https://owncloud.org/changelog/

Steps to reproduce
1. Mailbird installed on desktop and Dell tablet.
2. Set Symbolic Links to mirror ownClouid folder with Mailbird data on desktop and on tablet. This way I have email access on the road..
3. Use Mailbird.

Expected behaviour
Desktop and tablet access the same Mailbird data folder using ownCloud. Folder size should reflect email use.

Actual behaviour
ownCloud data explodes from 1 gb to 6 gb in 30 days, and still growing. My email accounts are not nearly that large.

Server configuration
Operating system: Windows 10 on both machines
Web server: CLOUDLINUX 6.8 x86_64 kvm – raleigh02 WHM 60.0 (build 25)

Database client version: libmysql - 5.1.73

Updated from an older ownCloud or fresh install: Not sure.
Special configuration (external storage, external authentication, reverse proxy, server-side-encryption):

data/owncloud.log file is 4.9 GB, which may itself be the problem. It's too large to upload here, I tried.

php does not seem to be setup properly to query system environment variables. The test with getenv("PATH") only returns an empty response.
Please check the installation documentation :arrow_upper_right: for php configuration notes and the php configuration of your server, especially when using php-fpm.

He said it was a known bug in ownCloud.

The folder size could be related to the version app. Especially if you have set unlimited storage for each user, all the remaining storage will be used for older versions and deleted files. If you use such a client, single files or folder can be easily moved or renamed and content would be saved several times.

However, I'm wondering about your solution. I would rather use IMAP accounts and client that have a work-offline mode.

Your warnings are not related to this initial topics. As long they are warnings (and no errors) these are recommendations. I would really worry about not using HTTPS, that means all your data is transferred unencrypted and every hop in between can read all your data (even user & password). Especially "on the road" when using public wifis, this is not acceptable. For more details, please read the linked documentation.

CPanel reports "The account “****” with primary domain “*****.com” has reached its bandwidth limit (15.34 GB/14.65 GB)." A month ago it was not 1GB. The problem is related to my ownCloud and Mailbird installations.

My Mailbird folder viewed in on my desktop Windows Explorer (Symbolic Links to ownCloud) is 191 MB (800 files, 71 folders). But when viewed through Chrome in my ownCloud Mailbird folder, is 137 MB. In FileZilla the ownCloud Mailbird folder is not there. And CPanel File Manager does not show a Mailbird folder. (I'm confused, but it probably has something to do with my Symbolic Links setup to the ownCloiud Mailbird folder.)

ownCloud (Chrome access) shows Misc folder at 119.1 MB and Store folder at 16.9 MB and Cefcash, which is inside Misc at 119.4 MB.

Check the client logfiles for errors (F12 to open log window) and scan your owncloud.log for errors as well. Start with recent ones. Perhaps some process runs into timeouts and the datasets are not properly synced. Make sure there are no symlinks within the sync folder as the owncloud client doesn't follow them. And avoid direct changes to the data-folder on the server, this is not supported and known to cause such issues.

I'm hesitant to post the log file here because there may be info in it that could be exploitable. Who can I send the log file to?

You can redact critical parts as hostnames, usernames etc.
