Newbie: Just trying to understand What I need to do

I’m new to OwnCloud software and am trying to setup a server:

I have Ubuntu 22.04 LTS as recommended (in a Parallels VM).

I then downloaded and executed the server installation *.deb package which states ‘OwnCloud Complete Files XXXXXXXX all.deb’. This to me states that it is complete. Now I don’t see anything about OwnCloud on the system and am wondering:

Am I supposed to, separately, setup Apache, the database etc etc IAW the other installation documentation. ie. this is OwnCloud Complete, NOT installation complete. It is not clear at all.

Again, apologies for this newbie question, I just want to get this installation back on track.

Cheers,
Kevin

Yes, you have to set up all of the services required to run the ownCloud application. It is beneficial, although not required, to already know how to run a LAMP stack before deploying an ownCloud instance.

You will benefit from thoroughly reading the installation documentation and guides.

Hi,

Thanks for that. It’s not immediately obvious from the documentation. I will take your advice.
