ownCloud 2.1.1 for Android released

Hi everybody!

A new version of the ownCloud Android app is now officially available.
This is sooner than what we planned, but so was the release of Android 7
from Google.

If any of you is already enjoying the Android 7 update, you sure will
have noticed that instant upload of pictures and videos from the camera
don't work anymore.

So here is 2.1.1 to fix it!

Moreover, as a side benefit, if your favorite camera app wasn't
compatible with the instat upload feature in ownCloud, you can give it
another try now (no matter your Android version). Go to 'Settings',
enable instant upload of pictures or video and ** scroll down to choose
the folder where your camera app stores the new pictures ** .

Please, notice that, whatever your Android version is, ** you might need
to select your camera folder ** in ownCloud settings to keep your
instant uploads working, depending on what's your favorite camera app.

Full changelog:

  • Instant uploads work in Android 7.

  • Select your camera folder to upload pictures or videos from any camera app.

  • Multi-Window support for Android 7.

  • Size of folders shown in list of files.

  • Sort by size your list of files.

The app is already available for download in Google Play Store:

The workaround app for Jelly Bean is also updated in Google Play Store, for those of you that still need it:

The binary for Blackberry 10 is also delivered to Blackberry World, should be approved soon.

The source code of this release can be found in https://github.com/owncloud/android/releases/tag/oc-android-2.1.1.

For discussions or any help in setting up we recommend to try ownCloud central first:
