ownCloud 5.0 doesn't install on Windows 7/8/8.1 64 bit

Expected behaviour

Install/update ownCloud client on older version of Windows

Actual behaviour

It doesn’t install! I get error 0xc0000005 (“Impossibile avviare correttamente l’applicazione” (Italian)/ “Application cannot be started correctly” (Google Translate))

Steps to reproduce

  1. download client setup from owncloud.com
  2. install (uninstall old versione and then install the new one) or update (install the new version without uninstalling the old one) on older version of Windows (7/8/8.1)
  3. get error

Server configuration

Irrilevant!
Operating system: ubuntu 20.04 updated

Web server: apache

Database:

PHP version:

ownCloud version: 10.13.1

Storage backend (external storage):

Client configuration

Client version: Latest (5.0.0.12xxx) today! Just downloaded

Operating system: Windows 7 64bit (not updated - Version 6.1 build 7601 Service Pack 1)
Same problem with Windows 8.1 64 bit (can’t get more version info)

OS language: Italiano

Please use Gist (https://gist.github.com/) or a similar code paster for longer
logs.

Template for output < 10 lines

  1. Client logfile: Output of owncloud --logwindow or owncloud --logfile log.txt
    (On Windows using cmd.exe, you might need to first cd into the ownCloud directory)

OK. I know!

It’s (the other one too) a lab pc for scientific instrument. It’s connected rarely, only for data transfer.

Do you confirm that from version 5 (or even previous versions) of the client, old operating systems are no longer supported? I was unable to find the information on the site, sorry.

Yes. 4.x works for older versions.
