ownCloud app (android) does not sync photos in background?

Actual behaviour

Using build-in “Picture uploads” feature, photos taken with camera are only sync’d when app is running in foreground.

Expected behaviour

Photos are sync’d even when app is in background and screen is off. (Like Google Photos)

Steps to reproduce

  1. Setup “Picture uploads” options
  2. Take photos
  3. Open ownCloud app and wait for sync to finish

Can this problem be reproduced with the official owncloud server?

Upload can be delayed up to 15 minutes (Android system restrictions). How long did you wait?

Nothing synched after 15 minutes or 15 days. Only when androind application is open.

Could you try to reproduce again and send us logs? You will find them in the “Settings” options after tapping 5 times in the build number (placed on bottom of Settings)
