Hello,
since some days now I mess around with the own cloud setup in different ways and none seems to work out of the box.
I ended up in using the appliance as this should be the easiest thing to get up running.
Failed!. For me at least.
I did download the latest appliance for ESX which contains the UCS 5.06
After running several variants of setups, it all ended up with issues.
Now I kept it simple, no Active Directory, only local users and just nothing else.
After setup was finished I was able to login to the administration panel.
But whenever I try to open up /owncloud, manually or from the link inside the panels, it fails.
505 site not found error in browser.
Checking the configuration of the app show it is up and running.
I did run the self check of the appliance to detect errors, but except a missing external DNS address, nothing wrong.
SHould such a thing run out of the box?
I did run all updates now ofr the appliance and run now 5.10.
Still no owncloud available.
Nowhere I am able to find any information how to proceed after the applicance is up and running and I got issues.
Now after running all the updates, I get more errors in the self diagnostic:
KDC not reachable - I did reboot the system already.
validating SAML certificates failed - I did just run updates on a blank system.
Check file permissions failed to sind first install without updates already (‘/var/cache/univention-app-appliance’ hat Datei-Modus 755, 700)
‘/var/cache/univention-system-activation’ hat Datei-Modus 777, 700 )
And some more stuff about ununprocessed files of some application. Looks like owncloud did not process any files which do exist in some folders.
But in fact it looks like regular files in there.
So anybody up here explaining me how to do a basic owcloud setup with appliance making it work?
I did try several times with docker, with bare metal, none of them worked after following the guides of owncloud itself.
Yeah, it is some time back I worked with such setup and on Linux etc. but I did not get old enough for Alzheimer yet.
