Just to make sure: I am using this account on other devices without trouble. On this device I was able to set up DavX with this account. So this is not an issue with credentials.

Thank you.

Hey,

maybe this existing thread about the same message helps you to pinpoint your issue? Issue logging in with my owncloud account using the Android client: Precondition failed

That is indeed the same error message, but a with different cause. I pulled up the status document from the server, here is the response:

{"installed":true,"maintenance":false,"needsDbUpgrade":false,"version":"14.0.6.0","versionstring":"14.0.6","edition":"","productname":"OwnDrive"}

Thank you.

Hey,

i think this could indeed explain the problem. It seems this is not an ownCloud installation (the latest ownCloud version is 10.2.1) so it could explain your seen issue.

I currently access this server with the ownCloud client from Android 8 and Linux.

Hey,

maybe you can contact the OwnDrive provider asking for an Android app compatible with their product?
