RasperryPi and External USB Storage

Is there a recent guide that details how to configure local USB storage with OwnCloud on the Pi?

I’ve looked through multiple videos/older posts and can’t find the answer to what seems like a simple process.

In the Admin sections I cannot get the LOCAL option to appear for external sttorage.

For the local option, you have to add

‘files_external_allow_create_new_local’ => true,

to your config.php file.
