What do others think?
We are dealing a lot in support with people who just enable this by accident without understanding the consequences which are laid down in the documentation ...
Of course occ means people without shell access will not be able to enable this.
Most people won't read the documentation, so I think it's a good idea that it's harder to enable such things "by accident". By just clicking an option, people expect that they can undo this without problems.
How about an "Are you sure you want to do this...If you do there is blah blah blah not able to recover...blah blah blah". At least you can say they were warned.
If you disable ability for persons with no root access to manage this feature within web interface it would not be that great for some IMO.
