Simple beginner's question: Allowing upload

How can I allow another person to upload into a specific folder?

I tried sharing an empty folder, but keep getting

"This directory is unavailable, please check the logs or contact the administrator"

when trying to access it.

What did I do wrong?

I don't even know what logs are, much less where to find them.

Hi,

i would suggest that you're creating a new thread in the "oC server" category (https://central.owncloud.org/c/help/oc-server). When doing so a template is shown which is asking your various information about your environment (PHP version, ownCloud version etc.). Most times it's very useful to have a look at the webserver logfile, the own logfile of ownCloud or the logfile of php. On linux you can find (depending on your used distro) at this locations: ownCloud (access on the file system directly->Login via ssh-terminal/ftp, NOT via browser): /path/to/owncloud/data/owncloud.log IMPORTANT NOTE: Please set DEBUG to true (for 8.1 and below):
