AFAIK the old theming process has not yet been disabled. So you could try if it works that way.

You tried to create a new theme app, based on the theme-example and it failed because of the accented characters.
then you tried to create a new theme in the theme folder and rewritten the json file in vim with the accented characters and now it works, right?

To sum up : it's just waste of time , i'm terribly confused . I start from scratch and i see that it's a missing comma in our json . If i give a piece of advice , don't edit your files with the MoBaXTerm windows editor .
