System requirements: 64bit Mac OS X 10.15+ and Desktop App 6.0.1 Intel version problem on MacOS Monterey version 12.7.6

Expected behaviour

On the download page it says

System requirements:
64bit Mac OS X 10.15+

Actual behaviour

If I download from The Desktop App for efficient syncing - ownCloud
the Intel Version for Mac OS, I can install it from file ownCloud-6.0.1.17343-x86_64.pkg without any problems.

The App doesn’t start and shows an error message like:
“The operating system installed on the machine is macOS 12.7.6.
The App needs at least macOS version 13.0.”

Request

Is it possible to support older OS’s? Thank you in advance

Welcome to the ownCloud Community.

They already are supporting older OS than Apple does by including 12.7.6, which was retired over a year ago. Apple dropped support for 10.15 over three years ago. It is not realistic to expect software to continue being developed for a OS that has not seen updates for that long, nor is it safe to continue using an abandoned OS online.

Maybe my post was not so clear, but the App doesn’t work at all on Monterey version 12.7.6 :smiling_face_with_tear:

It will be nice if the App could work on Monterey, not MacOS older versions (of course, you are right, that’s not safe to continue using an abandoned OS).
As I already wrote, it’s possible to install the App, but after that, the error message appears.
If it’s not possible, maybe it’s better to update the system requirements on the download page (as of now, it states 64-bit Mac OS X 10.15+)

I’m using Docker-based Owncloud Community Edition on a Windows Subsystem for Linux. I migrated it from a Raspberry Pi install after one year of testing.
It’s just for me and my friends, and I really like it

Cheers

Oh, it’s ok now.
I opened an issue on GitHub, and they changed the system requirements on the download page. Thank you
