Unable to login and synchronize with ownCloud Android App 2.8.0

Actual behaviour

  • Tell us what happens
    While synchronizing / login to ownCloud Android App 2.8.0 error message “user name or password incorrect” (or similar) appears

Expected behaviour

  • Tell us what should happen
    Synchronizing / login should work without Problems, as previously with former App version

Steps to reproduce

  1. Server: https://cloud.ewb-project.org
  2. User name as given by administrator, format: .
  3. App password generated by Web UI (tried several times with different passwords)

Can this problem be reproduced with the official owncloud server?

With demo server no problem

Remark:
After a long search and trial, I finally managed with the app “Cirrus Android” to access the requested ownCloud content on my mobile device (with a password generated by the web application).

Hey,

this looks like a quite outdated version of ownCloud (even for the 9.1 branch). According to your remark the problem is solved but i think it still could make sense to update to a recent version of ownCloud.

I’m not using the ownCloud app for Android since the reported issue - presumably after the update to V2.8.0.
Particularly in the past 2 weeks I havn’t used it. Instead I have switched to Cirrus app - works perfectly.
I have stopped the app on my phone - maybe it was still repeatedly trying to connect to the server with the (not matching) login data.
