Update from 10.14.0 to 10.15.0 fails

Hello,

I have two separate and different OwnCloud installations with the same provider.
I can no longer perform updates, even though I really need to because of the issue where portrait-mode photographs are not displayed, which is fixed in the latest version (10.15.0). Below is the error message I receive, but it doesn’t explain much to me.

I tried the update with the method given in:
“Parameters” and “Mises à jour”
Une nouvelle version est disponible : ownCloud 10.15.0
Canal de mise à jour :
Vous pouvez à tout moment mettre à jour vers une version plus récente ou un canal expérimental. Cependant vous ne pourrez jamais revenir à un canal plus stable.

Could you provide a solution to this problem?

Error message:
Client error: POST //localhost/owncloud/index.php/occ/config:list resulted in a 404 Not Found response: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC “-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN” ".w3.org/TR/ (truncated…)

Many thanks!
Jean-Claude

Hey,

i’m not sure as the info is not missing but i think it could be possible that you are using the updater app? If this is the case from what i have read in the past this is not the recommended way of updating ownCloud. I think the recommended way of updating is to do a manual update like explained by the ownCloud people here:

Many thanks for your answer, Tom42
Yes, I did it with the updater!
Until now it worked very well but this time not.
Why does this update option exist?
Any idea about the error message I posted?
For me the manual update as described seems too complicated for a non-expert!
I don’t know what to do?

Hey,

i’m not related to or involved in ownCloud in any way so i think i don’t have the qualification to answer why this update option exists :slightly_frowning_face:

What i can say is that i’m reading often that the update with the updater app doesn’t work that reliable and that most users having problems with it are not able to find any solution.

What i can also say is that the suggested method (like also stated in the linked documentation) seems to be the manual update. I think if no one else of the community can give you support with the update problem then i think the only chance is to try to do the manual update and ask questions in this forums if you are stumbling over any problems while doing the manual update.
