Using Azure Storage for OwnCloud

I want to add Azure FileShare as my external storage.

I tried adding it as a SMB storage, but it said, “Storage temporarily not available”
So, I mounted the Share on a mountpoint and moved the data.

I followed this article: https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-move-the-data-directory-for-owncloud-on-ubuntu-16-04

Now I am getting the following error:
Your Data directory is invalid
Please check that the data directory contains a file “.ocdata” in its root.

I was not aable to locate the config file: var/www/owncloud/config/config.php

Please help me.

maybe this would help you. An article about troubleshooting mounting storage in ownCloud

Also have you tried to mount the storage locally and then add it as local storage to your ownCloud?

Hey,

in another thread i had found out some lacking/missing information on this article:

We have same difficulty and found the reason a hard way.
Azure File Share can not be accessed by any cloud sync application. These applications can access Azure Blob not File Share. The difficulty with Blob is high cost of operation and slow processing.
It is so disappointing to see that Azure File Share can be used only with Azure FileSync which has a lot of limitations.
Thank you
