Version rollback after reboot

I've been using OwnCloud for some time now on a Raspberry Pi 3 and finally took the time to upgrade it after some negligence. I've gone through the steps to get it up to date (upgrade from one major release to the next using the repos found here and, strangely, after a reboot the version rolls back from 9.1.2 to 8.2.5 (as shown on [owncloud address]/status.php)
Does anyone have any idea what might be going on here?

Hi,

moving to the Miscellaneous category as this ownCloud doesn't have any "rollback" functionality included. So this is somehow an issue on your operating system itself which might have two ownCloud installations on different partitions installed or similar.

Sorry for the improper thread placement.

As far as I know, unless I accidentally installed it twice somehow, I'm not sure how this could be happening. I suppose I'll do some more digging and see what I can find and prepare to migrate to a new installation.

Hi,

no need to say sorry

I think the only explanation is that you had:

  • installed oC 8.2
  • mounted an external disc or partition aftwerwards
  • installed oC 8.2 on that external disc / partition again
  • upgraded the oC 8.2 to 9.1 on the external disc / partition

Now after the restart the external disc / partition is not mounted anymore and you're back to the old 8.2
