We’re Phasing Out openSUSE Linux Packages for ownCloud 10 – Here’s What to Do Instead

We will stop providing ownCloud 10 server packages via openSUSE Build Software in the near future. Package maintenance will be phased out over the coming weeks.

Why this change?

Over the past months, we’ve observed a steady decline in the usage of ownCloud 10 packages provided via the openSUSE Build Service. At the same time, Docker-based deployments have become the preferred choice for many of our community and enterprise users – offering more flexibility, consistency, and long-term maintainability.

To better focus our resources and streamline our distribution efforts, we’ve made the decision to discontinue the maintenance and publication of ownCloud 10 server packages via the openSUSE Build Service.

What are the alternatives?

You can continue to install and run ownCloud 10 using the following supported methods:

We believe these methods offer a better and more sustainable experience moving forward. If you’re currently using the openSUSE Software packages, we recommend planning your transition accordingly.

As always, feel free to share feedback or report issues at central.owncloud.org.

Happy sharing!
