Where do I start when I

I hope this is appropriate to post here.
I’m want to try to implement a feature for the desktop client, as a project for university and I am not quite sure where to look for the proper documentation/who to contact.
I’ve installed everything properly already but I couldn’t find much of a tutorial or guidelines for the desktop.

Thank you. I have built everything but the project is still pretty difficult to understand. Is there any documentation on how the metadata works on client. I couldn’t find anything that tells me what it entails what you are allowed to write in it etc.
