Can anyone tell me the best compatible NAS to use with Owncloud?

the problem with the NAS is that the versions that PHP are running are very late … I mention this because I have 2 QNAP with owncloud and in both I must have 2 old versions of owncloud, if I upgrade it gives me errors and I must Back to the previous version.

i think @apowazniak has raised a valid point.
From my limited experience with such NAS devices they are no recommended platform for running a software like ownCloud. Mainly because they are either providing outdated PHP versions or no access to the base operating system at all and you’re stuck with outdated versions of ownCloud provided via the NAS app store.
