Folders with special char will not be synced

Hey!

Actual behaviour

  • folders (and its content) with special char ([ or ]) will not be synced

Expected behaviour

  • Also folders with special chars ([ and ]) shall be synced

Steps to reproduce

  1. create folder (with any content) with special char at the beginning on your desktop; e.g.: [2019] Halleluja
  2. let folder sync to server
  3. mark as offline with your android app

Can this problem be reproduced with the official owncloud server?

@der-domi sounds like https://github.com/owncloud/android/issues/2481 . It got fixed and will be released in the 2.11. You can verify with the 2.11 beta ( see post ownCloud 2.11 beta app for Android )

Hey,

if the same can be reproduced on the demo instance then personally i would report such an issue to a bugtracker rather then to a user support forums. From what i know bugs in the android app could be reported at https://github.com/owncloud/android/issues

But maybe the following in the upcoming release 2.11 of the android client might be related?

Fix folder with brackets [ ] does not show the content

You are right! Next time I will do that. I also had this idea after I write the question. But than I already received Michaels answer.

Thanks to you both. I will test it asap. But I also think that the above mentioned issue will fix the bug.
