Can you simply backup the web folder and mysql?
Could you theoretically then move to another server and just restore it and it'd work?

You do need a backup, ideally a snapshot as otherwise you need to start maintenance mode of:
Database and
Storage from the same point of time.
and of course the web folder (but thats the least important).
The database has metadata which must match the storage (including path names, or you will to change those via scripts).
