can anyone point me in the right direction of someone who can help me install the patch via team viewer as I am not used to linux

Read the last section of the first post.
In short:
download patched files for your version,
unzip them on your computer,
browse into the new folder created while unzipping
and FTP the files inside this folder to exactly the same location on your server
