Ownclound removes all files from client desktop and the resyncs data back to clients at random times

Good Day

I am gathering the information as per your requirements will update shorlty

Hi,

If you could include your server log file and your client log file, that would help narrow down the problem

Expected behaviour

Tell us what should happen
Data must sync as per default owncloud specs

Actual behaviour

All data are being removed from all owncloud clients an then resynced, at random time intervals 3 times a week.

Steps to reproduce

Hi Dmitry

Thanks for the assistance

Where do you want me to share the log files

I can share it from the owncloud server

Regards

I Have Zipped them can email please forward email address

Would be best if you had a look at them yourself and search for errors or exception messages and post that as text here.

Hi Dmitry

Can we have a voip call to review the environment and to indentify the cause.

Hi Dmitry

What I have seen is that if the storage unit or any smb share is down or the owncloud server cannot connect to it,it removes the files from the clients desktops, when the storage unit is online or the smb share the it resyncs

Can we config the server that it does not remove the files when the remote share or online storage is off line

I will investigate this and get back to you asap

Need log files. Server and Client.

Look for Service unavailable or Storage unavailable.

Tried to reproduce this:

Server log “Connection refused”

Server connected to client - “Timeout”

Also, can you tell me more about your setup? What is connected how and why?

Also - why do your shares go down?

The storage can go offline for two reasons

power outage the ups runs out of power.
When power is online and the storage boot after the owncloud server it removes all data from the client.

its shows the link to storage with 0kb data

When storage is online it resyncs

or hardware issues

both have happend

i remove the image with

Okay, but those are rare cases, right?

I tested it on my instance and even if the server with the share goes away - the local files stay.

Is user1 part of the admin group?

this is the user on the storage device

Share the data with users in a group and see if will be removed
