Upload large files from Android App much slower than from desktop

Actual behaviour

When I upload a file from the Android app (e.g. a Video) it never gets beyond 2MB/s.

Expected behaviour

Since uploading with another Android app (QFile on QNAP NAS) gets to 20-40MB/s, and uploading with owncloud desktop client is fast as well, I would expect the same speed when uploading with the Android app.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open owncloud app
  2. Select the ‘+’
  3. Select a big file for upload

Can this problem be reproduced with the official owncloud server?

No, as we don’t have a faster upload speed than 10Mbs. Also 4G+ does not get these high speeds.
